A NEW LOOK AT FACELIFTS
Let's face it . . .
gravity is not a friend. Sagging, lines and wrinkles, and bumps
and bulges in the wrong places on the face (and body) are the inevitable
results of aging. Smoking, sun exposure and stress only accelerate
the aging process. Advanced Concepts has an array of answers ranging
from skin treatment regimens to surgical options to help to make
you look younger and feel better about yourself.
The tight, drawn look and the lengthy recovery time
many of us associate with facelifts are things of the past because
of new technologies and new techniques. Today, there is no such
thing as a universal facelift procedure. Different areas of the
face often age at different rates and each patient has very specific
goals and needs. Since we use a holistic approach, a variety of
procedures are often combined to fully achieve the result you want.
We are also using endoscopic techniques for many of our facial procedures,
thereby reducing scarring and, as a result, shortening healing time.
We start by dividing the face into 3 separate areas
and evaluating certain key features:
1. UPPER FACE (forehead, brows, and eyelids)
Do you have deep expression lines on the forehead or crows feet
on the corners of the eyes? Are your brows naturally arched and
expressive? Do your upper lids sag? Are your lower lids baggy or
puffy?
THE PROCEDURES:
Blepharoplasty
(eyelid surgery) is used on either (or both) the upper and lower
lids to remove excess skin and fat and restore a more youthful look.
This procedure has the singular most dramatic impact on a patient's
overall appearance. Laser Skin Resurfacing may also be used to reduce
crows feet or forehead lines. Botox (Botulism Toxin) injection is
another effective but temporary option for reducing wrinkles and
creases. Forehead/Browlifts are used to raise the brow line. They
can reduce more dramatic lines and creases in this area by relaxing
the supporting muscles beneath the skin.
2. MID FACE (nose, cheeks, and upper lip)
Do you have deep folds from the corner of the nose to the lips?
Is your upper lip becoming thinner? Are vertical lines forming above
your upper lip? Is your nose lengthening or starting to droop? Has
your cheek tissue fallen to create jowls around the chin and jaw?
THE PROCEDURES:
Treatment of this area is in constant evolution
as we better understand the changes which occur during aging. Repositioning
of check muscles and the fat pads can be accomplished with open
or endoscopic techniques. Loose skin can be removed and wrinkles
can be reduced with laser resurfacing. The exact combination of
procedures is determined by your individual needs.
3. LOWER FACE (lower lip, chin, jawline and
neck) Is your lower lip thinning? Is your chin starting to recede?
Are vertical lines forming on your lower lip? Has your neck tissue
expanded or is it loose?
THE PROCEDURES:
A partial Facelift will tighten the lower facial
muscles and a separate Neck Lift procedure is used to tighten loose
neck tissue. Liposuction may be used to remove fat deposits from
the neck area. Implants are used to correct a receding chin and
Laser Skin Resurfacing will reduce wrinkles around the lips.
All of these procedures are performed on an outpatient
basis with minimal recovery time. Although cosmetic surgery can't
stop the clock permanently, it can help you look younger, longer.
