Injectable Fillers

Injectable fillers are substances used to enhance the fullness of soft tissues, primarily in the face. They can be used for smile lines, lip borders, vertical lip lines, marionette lines, acne scars, frown lines, and crow's feet.

Current fillers Dr. Robert Stroup offers include Radiesse, Juvederm Injectable Gel, Sculptra and Artefill. Each has different characteristics, including thickness/body, longevity, and versatility.

Do the injections hurt?

Most patient's are comfortable and able to tolerate the injection without numbing.  Numbing cream is available and can be used to anesthetize the area before the treatment begins.  This will require you to come in one hour prior to your visit.  For lip injections, Dr. Stroup can inject a local numbing agent to the area.  These blocks make for painless lip injections.

Recovery

Anytime an injection is performed, bruising and/or swelling may occur.  Most bruises resolve within a week. To decrease the chance of developing a bruise, avoid blood thinners such as Vitamin E, aspirin, ibuprofen (Motrin/Advil) and Naproxen (Aleve) for 10 days prior to your treatment.

Below is more detailed information about each filler we offer.  A consultation is the best way to determine which filler product is best for you.
